Abdominoplasty addresses skin laxity in the abdomen for all patients. The differences lie in the starting anatomy that differs between men and women. Most men do not have a separation of their abdominal muscles, known as rectus diastasis. It is therefore unnecessary to perform a muscle repair during abdominoplasty in men. This generally means that recovery is much easier since the muscle repair is what patients find the most uncomfortable.
This is the main difference when it comes to men and women regarding abdominoplasty. Dr. Lee can perform both a traditional abdominoplasty and a drainless abdominoplasty in all patients.
