EMSCULPT NEO uses HIFEM (High Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic) technology to stimulate your muscles for supramaximal contractions. This means that this treatment is able to provide stronger contractions than anyone can do on their own even with professional grade gym equipment. Additionally, the radiofrequency of EMSCULPT NEO simultaneously reduces more fat and tightens the skin. Many other treatments treat only muscle, only fat, or only skin but this is the only treatment that can treat all three for the most dramatic results and best outcomes.
EMSCULPT NEO can help:
- Build muscle and muscle definition: when you stimulate muscle contractions the muscle grows stronger and will become more defined. This is great for any part of the body but the most popular areas are the abdomen and the buttocks. In addition to seeing more muscle definition, patients will also become stronger and regular workouts will become easier.
- Help improve rectus muscle diastasis: After pregnancy most people develop rectus (abdominal) diastasis. This is when the muscles separate from all the pressure of carrying a baby and after delivery, the muscles can remain separated. This can lead to functional problems as well as a suboptimal appearance. EMSCULPT NEO is really the only treatment that can help with this outside of surgery.
- Reduce fat: While the original EMSCULPT helped reduce fat, EMSCULPT NEO adds radiofrequency which helps reduce more fat. On average, 30% of fat is reduced with the combination muscle stimulation and radiofrequency provided with this treatment.

Ideal Candidate
Most people are good candidates for EMSCULPT NEO, except those with a BMI greater than 35. Since EMSCULPT NEO uses magnetic muscle stimulation, patients with any metal near the treatment area should not be treated. For example, some IUDs contain copper which would need to be removed prior to treating the buttocks.
Procedure Details
EMSCULPT NEO is a noninvasive treatment which means that there is no need for anesthesia or needles. Once you have been deemed a good candidate, one or two applicators will be placed onto the treatment areas and your muscle contractions will begin. It can be a strange sensation so we typically will start at a low setting but as your body gets used to the treatment, we increase the intensity to maximize your results. In addition, the radiofrequency energy is delivered simultaneously so you will feel a warm sensation on the treatment area. In areas that volume is desirable such as the buttock area, we have the option of turning off the radiofrequency. You will continue treatment until your 30 minute session is finished.

FAQ
does it hurt?
The short answer is: it’s really not that bad. The feeling of a strong muscle contraction can be uncomfortable for some people. That being said, most patients find it completely tolerable at 100% intensity. If you’ve never had a treatment before, starting at a lower setting and working your way up is the most effective way of minimizing discomfort.
how many sessions do i need?
We generally recommend 6 sessions spaced one week apart for best results. Patients have the option of doing more or less but most people do 6 sessions. After you finish, you have the option of performing maintenance treatments at your convenience if you choose to do so. Remember, like anything in life, proper maintenance is key to a lasting result. You may choose to have more EMSCULPT NEO treatments, maintain on your own, or do a combination.
what should i do before/after my treatment?
You need to arrive well hydrated. Like any other physical activity, your body will be less capable of maximizing your treatment if you are dehydrated. Afterwards, it is important to not gain any weight as this can offset the benefit you get. Results depend on both what happens during your treatments and what happens in between your sessions.
