Our Office
At JL Plastic Surgery, we strive to provide patients with a friendly experience while delivering the best cosmetic results. We believe in educating our patients to help them understand everything about their recommended treatment. Since we know that everyone starts off with different features, every treatment plan is customized to the individual patient.
Consultation – what to expect
The process starts with one of our patient coordinators. They are extremely knowledgeable and will help answer any questions you may have before your consultation. When you arrive for your consultation, Dr. Lee will review your medical history, perform an examination, and make recommendations on the best treatment options. You will also have an opportunity to address any questions or concerns. After you leave our office, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible, so we encourage you to ask additional questions that come up through email or phone. If you want to come back in to talk to Dr. Lee again, you may also schedule a 2nd consultation at no charge. Should you decide to schedule surgery, you will be asked to come in for a preoperative appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Lee will go over the appropriate consent forms and answer any additional questions you may have.
day of surgery
Cosmetic procedures are performed in an outpatient operating suite accredited by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) or AAAASF. Once you arrive, you will be checked in by the nursing staff and Dr. Lee will review the surgical plan with you one last time. You will also meet your licensed anesthesiologist and have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding anesthesia.
Once everyone is ready, you will be brought to the operating room where an IV will be placed and anesthesia is administered. While Dr. Lee performs your surgery, you are continuously being monitored by your anesthesiologist to make sure you are asleep and safe. After surgery, you are brought to the recovery room and given time to wake up. Once you meet the required criteria, you can then be discharged with a responsible adult.
You do have the option of staying overnight with continuous nursing care for an additional fee. In certain cases, this may be required. You will then be asked to come back for a followup appointment either that week or the following week.
